Our Children's Faith Formation Ministry is designed for Kindergarten through 4th grade. Our curriculum begins in September and lasts through the beginning of May. We meet as a group on Sunday between services from 9:30 - 10 am and Wednesday nights between 7:00 and 7:30 pm (following worship and a light supper at 6:45 pm). Children are welcome to join us at either session, each uses the same curriculum.
The goal of our Children's Faith Formation is to support our parents as they raise their children in the faith. Specifically, so these children have familiarity leading to mastery of the main biblical stories. This includes the sense of the overarching theme of that story and their place in it.
We do this by:
- Providing resources and support for parents to educate their children at home. Our curriculum is designed to be accessed and used in part from home by parents.
- Providing education at church based on the main biblical stories.
- Emphasizing in our corporate gatherings (children, youth, adults, and combined) that the story of God’s pursuit of God’s people includes them.
We focus on a 2 week emphasis on a story from scripture (roughly 2 stories a month). The stories will move chronologically by season, but change from Old Testament to New Testament in February.
