Our Core Commitment:
Since our founding in 1856, community has been a core commitment of St. John. The community that is the gathering of the body of Christ here on the corner of Walker and Rowley. The community of the city of Ely. The community that surrounds us in Cedar Rapids, Solon, Shueyville and Swisher. The larger community of our nation and our world.
We especially recognize the value of community that is built around gathering at a shared table for a meal. We have been active in feeding ministries throughout most of our history, especially sponsoring the Ely Community Food Drive for at least 35 years and extending into our monthly Senior Noon Meal on the first Monday of the month.
